This beautiful vintage 1960s Portmeirion "Hen on Nest" ceramic egg holder and casserole dish, designed by Susan Williams-Ellis, brings classic British mid-century charm to any kitchen. As a large Size 1 piece—the largest size produced in the range—it features a rich, glossy brown treacle glaze with exquisite detailing, highlighted by nesting chicks tucked under the wings and a textured basket-weave base that bears the raised "Oven to Table / Portmeirion 1 Made in England" backstamp.
Weighing a substantial 1532g and measuring approximately 8.5" high, 9.25" long, and 6.75" deep, it serves beautifully as a focal farmhouse decor element or a functional country cottage egg storage piece.
