Used on writing desks during the late 19th and early 20th centuries to store postage stamps, often featuring two separate interior compartments to sort different denominations.
Design: Designed in the classic Art Nouveau style, featuring a prominent sunflower and leaf motif on the hinged lid.
Details: The lid features openwork (pierced/cut-out) metalwork, a beaded border running along the base, and a footed rectangular shape.
It measures 3.5" wide x 2.25" long x 1.25" tall.
